What are the requirements of silicone sealant for the curing environment?

Time:2024-08-29 Views:96

Silicone sealant is in a paste state and is installed in a sealed tube. It will not be squeezed out normally. The main functions of silicone sealant are bonding and fixing. After curing, it can play a role in weather resistance, shock resistance and good moisture resistance. Good quality can also achieve temperature resistance and can perform normally in a zero-degree environment.

What is the curing method of silicone sealant?

Silicone sealant is a single-component sealant. The curing method is completely different from that of two-component sealant. This adhesive will undergo a curing reaction as long as it comes into contact with air. During construction, as long as the glue is squeezed to the interface to be applied, the curing reaction will occur automatically.

Does silicone sealant have any requirements for the curing environment?

1. Silicone sealant can be cured at room temperature. During the curing process, it depends on the air humidity to undergo a vulcanization reaction. Therefore, there are certain requirements for the humidity of the curing environment. It cannot be too dry, otherwise it will prolong the curing time.

2. Silicone sealant can be constructed in an environment of 5 to 35 degrees. If the construction environment temperature is too high or too low, it is not conducive to construction. If the temperature is too low, frost will appear on the surface of the substrate, and the glue cannot adhere to it, which is not conducive to curing. If the temperature is too high, the curing speed will be too fast, which is not conducive to the release of ethanol in the glue.

3. Silicone sealant should be constructed and cured in a room temperature environment as much as possible, so that the various properties of the glue can be stabilized after curing. If it is constructed and cured at low or high temperatures, the various properties of the colloid will change slightly.

During the construction stage, as long as the operation method and construction environment are reasonably mastered and good quality glue is selected, the expected curing effect can be achieved. For example, TENSAN focuses on the research of sealants and provides customized sealant application solutions. It has a wide range of uses and can be applied to new energy, military industry, medical, aviation, shipbuilding, electronics, automobiles, instruments, power supplies, high-speed rail and other industries.

Silicone sealant not only has requirements for the curing environment, but also has certain requirements for the use field after construction. Although the glue has good moisture-proof and waterproof properties after curing, it cannot be intruded into water for a long time and cannot be used as a waterproof material.
