What is led silicone?

LED silicone is the general term for organic silicone materials in the LED photoelectric industry. Due to the weak anti-ozone ability of epoxy, the colloid turns yellow, affecting the light transmission effect, and the silicone material has excellent properties such as anti-atmospheric aging and ultraviolet aging, and epoxy resin has been replaced by LED silicone material in high-end product applications.

 

What are the categories of LED silicone?

 

1. According to the type of molecular chain group, it can be divided into methyl organic silicone and benzyl organic silicone. At present, most of the widely used in the LED photoelectric market are methyl organic silicone, and phenyl organic silicone is only used in the field of high requirements due to its high cost.

2. According to the field of use, it can be divided into organic silicone for LED lamp bead packaging and silicone for LED application products. LED lamp bead packaging with organic silicone, including lens filling silicone and LED solid silica gel, LED application products potting silicone price is relatively low, as long as it is waterproof, such as LED water light potting silicone, solar LED lamp sealing silicone, LED display protection silicone, LED module transparent silicone and so on.

3, according to the vulcanization conditions: can be divided into high temperature vulcanization type LED silicone and room temperature vulcanization type LED silicone. No matter which type of silica gel, there is no exothermic phenomenon when vulcanized. High temperature vulcanized silica gel is a high molecular weight polysiloxane (molecular weight is generally 400,000 to 800,000), room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is generally low molecular weight (30,000 to 60,000), at both ends of the molecular chain (sometimes there are also in the middle) with one or two functional groups, under certain conditions (moisture in the air or appropriate catalyst), these functional groups can react. Thus, high molecular weight crosslinked structures are formed. Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber can be divided into condensation type and addition molding according to its vulcanization mechanism. According to its packaging can be divided into two components and single components of two types.

 

LED silicone performance classification some?

The basic structural unit of LED silicone products is composed of silicon-oxygen chain links, and the side chain is connected to various other organic groups through silicon atoms. Therefore, the structure of the high-power LED silicone product contains both "organic groups" and "inorganic structure", and this special composition and molecular structure makes it integrate the characteristics of organic matter and the function of inorganic matter in one. Compared with other polymer materials, the most outstanding properties of LED silicone products are:

LED silicone products are based on silicon-oxygen (Si-O) bond chain structure, C-C bond bond energy of 82.6 kcal/g molecule, Si-O bond energy in LED silicone is 121 kcal/g molecule, so LED silicone products have high thermal stability, high temperature (or radiation irradiation) molecular chemical bonds do not break, do not decompose. High power LED silicone is not only resistant to high temperature, but also low temperature, and can be used in a wide temperature range. Both chemical properties and physical and mechanical properties change little with temperature.

2. Weather fastness

The main chain of LED silicone products is -SI-O -, no double bond exists, so it is not easy to be decomposed by ultraviolet light and ozone. High power LED silicone has better thermal stability and radiation and weather resistance than other polymer materials. The service life of LED silica gel in natural environment can reach decades.

3. Electrical insulation property

LED silicone products have good electrical insulation properties, its dielectric loss, voltage resistance, arc resistance, corona resistance, volume resistivity and surface resistivity are among the best insulating materials, and their electrical properties are very little affected by temperature and frequency. Therefore, they are a stable electrical insulation material and are widely used in the electronic and electrical industry. In addition to excellent heat resistance, LED silicone also has excellent water resistance, which is the guarantee of high reliability for the use of electrical equipment under wet conditions.

4. Physiological inertia

Polysiloxanes are some of the most inactive compounds known. They are very resistant to biological aging, have no rejection reaction with animals, and have good anticoagulant properties with LED silica gel.

5. Low surface tension and low surface energy

The main chain of high-power LED silicone is very flexible, and the intermolecular force is much weaker than hydrocarbons, so it is lower in viscosity than hydrocarbons of the same molecular weight, weak in surface tension, small in surface energy, and strong in film forming ability. This low surface tension and low surface energy is the main reason for its many applications: hydrophobic, defoaming, foam stabilization, anti-sticking, lubrication, glazing and other excellent properties.

 

What are the uses of LED silicone?

 

LED silicone has been widely used in the photoelectric industry, and it is favored by the majority of LED manufacturers because of its excellent performance. The application classification of LED silicone in the photoelectric industry can be divided into the following categories:

1. Application of LED lamp beads:

In the high-power LED, patch type LED lamp beads, from the chip fixing, white LED lamp beads mixed phosphor, lens type filling, etc. are all by the LED silicone.

(1) LED silica gel for solid crystal: the chip is commonly known as solid crystal glue, often mixed with silver powder to improve the thermal conductivity effect, so the market is called solid crystal silver glue.

(2) LED mixed phosphor silica gel: White LED is composed of blue LED chip surface evenly covered with a layer of yellow fluorescence, blue light through the phosphor to achieve white light effect, which requires the use of LED mixed phosphor silica gel.

 

(3) Surface filled LED silicone: The surface silicone on the LED lamp bead is designed to protect the LED chip, common high-power LED lens filling, lens mold sealing, patch type flat package, COB type large-area non-specification package.

2. Application of LED application products: LED application field is very broad, life lighting, traffic warning, aerospace technology, underground operations, etc., have been widely used. The LED silicone used in LED application products is designed to waterproof, in order to protect the internal circuit of the product. The common ones are the black potting silicone used for the protection of LED display PCB board, and the sealed potting silicone used on LED lamps.
