Difference Between Conformal Coating and Three-Proof Paint

Conformal Coating: Primarily used to protect circuit boards and components from moisture, dust, and chemicals, as well as to enhance impact resistance. The focus is more on physical protection and structural support, making it suitable for encapsulation and reinforcement of components.

Three-Proof Paint: Mainly used for moisture-proofing, salt spray resistance, and mold prevention, protecting circuit boards from environmental corrosion. Its primary role is to provide environmental protection, especially in harsh operating conditions.

2. Material Composition:

Conformal Coating: Common materials include silicone, epoxy resin, and polyurethane, often featuring good flexibility, transparency, or heat resistance. It’s ideal for applications requiring light transmittance and impact resistance.

Three-Proof Paint: Typically made from acrylic, polyurethane, and organic silicone, with formulations specifically designed for moisture, salt spray, and mold resistance.

3. Coating Characteristics:

Conformal Coating: Generally, the coating is thicker with a certain degree of flexibility and adhesive strength, providing strong mechanical protection.

Three-Proof Paint: The coating is thinner and highly transparent, mainly for environmental corrosion protection, making it easier for inspection and maintenance.

4. Application Scenarios:
